written and directed by Chris Mae, conceptualized from Chloe Moriondo's ethereal, tumblr-like mood board and pop princess track, she created a make-believe world inspired by whimsy girlhood nostalgia including references from sailor moon, my little pony, sandy liang, and vivienne westwood.

chris mae's styling inspirations included in the initial treatment: soft feminine touches with pops of pink and cream, pearls adorning ears, gemstones lining hems, and of course — lace and bows
stylists Leah David and Vindhya Vimala brought the vision to life by sourcing from their personal collections and NYC designers
wanting to have the viewer completely entranced with Chloe's curious movements on screen, the shot list Chris Mae wrote relied heavily on using almost fictional looking props in calculated movements.
talking to your toys and laying on your bed amongst books was something deeply personal and significant as we go through girlhood since these tendencies never really fade away.
it feels comforting, familiar.
all of it being bedazzled is a nod to the early 2010s when we all still loved the color pink and sparkles in our hair, something truly healing seeing it again.

working with production designer Vindhya Vimala, inspirations included muted pink and lavender colors, as well as silky sheets
almost all props were handmade or trinkets from girlhood like stuffed animals, albums, books, and fashion magazines — creating a world that only exists in our soft memories
alongside DP and colorist Tristan Renaud, the grading was inspired by ethereal and soft music videos, playing with dusty pinks and frosty aquas whilst neon purples and overexposed whites for euphoria-like scenes
blush and sparkling details were added in post-production to feel a little more otherworldly, a nod to Chloe's last era as a mermaid and paving the way to her independent release
